Collaboration with ‘Dexamenes Seaside Hotel’

“Dexamenes” seaside hotel & “Eating the Goober” fashion brand: A collaboration with ecological consciousness.

What do you get when a luxury hotel meets a fashion brand? What happens when two ecologically minded Greek companies decide to join forces? Collaborations of this nature reaffirm the relevance of the Greek ancient proverb “in unity we stand strong”.

At first glance, “Dexamenes” Seaside Hotel is a beautiful luxury resort located on Kourouta Beach in the Peloponnese region in Southern Greece. However, this is no ordinary resort. Have you ever stayed in old wine tanks while marveling at the Ionian Sea? The owner and inspiration behind “Dexamenes” Nikos Karaflos, in collaboration with the architectural office K-Studio, have managed to convert a post-war winery from the early 1900’s into an award-winning luxurious resort, renowned for its uniqueness, earthy aesthetic and ecological consciousness. ”Dexamenes” has received well-deserved acclaim and numerous distinctions for its astonishing design and exquisite hospitality. The amalgamation of the culturally significant site with modern aesthetics and refined elegance to create a unique sustainable experience that is respectful of the historic fabric is truly commendable.

“Eating the Goober” is a designer brand of clothing, sandals & bags, founded in Athens/ Greece in 2017 by Vicky Moudilou and Stamatis Guinis. The brand manages to combine style with slow fashion practices and stimulating design lines with innovative ideas. With respect for human, animal, and the environment at the forefront of its practices, “Eating the Goober” manages to showcase the circular economy and upcycling notion through aesthetically refined artistic design. The brand, having already received an international award, strongly believes in the concept of ethical fashion and is constantly evolving its sustainable practices to demonstrate that this is how the future of the fashion industry should be.

“Dexamenes” and “Eating the Goober” have teamed up and realized their collaborative journey in May 2021 by creating an ecological clothing collection designed by “Eating the Goober, exclusively for “Dexamenes”. The collection is comprised of the eco-material textile “Ramie” which is considered to be one of the most significant fibres of antiquity. The design draws inspiration from the architecture of the hotel and combines minimalistic aesthetics, interesting details, geometric elements and stylish design. The women and men’s collections, will be showcased by hotel staff and will be exclusively available for purchase in the resorts boutique.

This cooperation,  born and fueled by the love of sustainability, design and respect for the world we live in, is a prime example of how the hospitality and fashion industry can add value to the tourism industry while creating awareness for ecological balance.
